Camp Metcalf: March 2017

Our sweet girl turned two this week! She is beginning to understand what birthdays are all about and has been singing "happy birthday Charlie" for the past few weeks. Her birthday week was incredibly special for her. It started with a pancake breakfast where she got to sit on the counter and help Dad flip the flapjacks. Sunny, Warren, and Nana came to the house with balloons and gifts. Nana took Charlie and Sunny to the library for sing-a-long and the whole group of kids sang happy birthday to Charlie. We had a small party with the Stegmaiers, Masseys, and Nana. We had cake, blew out candles, and opened presents. One of the best gifts was the backpack from Nana. Sunny and Warren gave Charlie a water art pad to take with her on the go. Ophelia and Moana gave Charlie a cute outfit (that matches O's) and a bubble blowing lawnmower. Charlie was thrilled to have so many people surrounding her with love.

To continue her birthday celebration, we took Charlie and Will to Bozeman to visit the Museum of he Rockies (MOR), play in the hotel pool, and to open more presents. The MOR was incredible with all of us in awe at the T-Rex. The biggest highlight, though, was swimming at the hotel. Dad and Charlie jumped in and out of the pool, getting so cold that they needed a hot bath afterwards. Will and Mom made a big birthday dinner in the hotel room and we ended the day with cake and gifts. Charlie loved the magnetic blocks and Elmo from Mimo. And Boppy's magnetic drawing pad was a hit.

Birthday week continues with more gifts coming in from family. Aunt Sharon gave Charlie a beautiful sundress. Luke gave her a tractor trailer truck equipped with race cars. Auntie Em and Uncle Jimmy sent along a big pink dump truck just like Jimmy's. Uncle Ben and Auntie Cheryl sent fruit and veggie magnets that have been a hit with both Charlie and Sunny!
