2 Months of Will

Our sweet boy has been with us for 2 months now.  He is perfect.  He is hitting every developmental milestone; smiling, cooing, and grabbing.  As expected, we hit the 6 week mark and his evening crankiness subsided and he has become more relaxed during the day. Will has fallen into a comfortable schedule of morning and afternoon naps followed by a quick cat nap at dinner time.  At night, he sleeps for the first 4 hours in his bassinet and then joins Mom and Dad for the remainder of the night.  This provides a much needed reprieve!

Will has also been Mom's partner in crime.  He joins her for walks and runs most afternoons usually sleeping or looking out of the stroller, enjoying the scenery.  He has also attended a few work meetings where he usually just hangs out in Mom's arms.  There is no shortage of baby holders in Missoula and we are thankful for them when we need to work and be a parent at the same time.

Will loves his sister Charlie.  He like when she gives hugs and kisses.  Will especially loves it when she smiles down at him.  We can't wait for these two to get into all sorts of trouble together.

Here are some of our favorite pictures from the past month.

Metcalf Hygge

There seems to be an obsession with Hygge on the internet; the Danish word for getting cozy, everyday togetherness, or a mood that comes from making ordinary days more meaningful.  That is exactly what we have been doing since Will has come into our lives.  Although our Hygge has moments of utter chaos, crying, and dirty diapers.... maybe not what the Danish had in mind.  We have been home bound and snowed in for two months now and adjusting to our new world.  Charlie has been an all-star by going with the flow.  She clearly loves her brother and loves to take pictures with him.

Over the past month we have had help from Uncle Ben and Aunt Cheryl who visited for a week.  They read endless books and played many games with Charlie, snuggled with Will on the couch, and helped keep our bellies full.  We enjoyed seeing them and can't wait to celebrate their marriage in June!

Although we have been in full on Hygge mode, we still managed to take a little road trip to Pullman, WA to visit the Weybrights and the Coopers.  We survived a 4.5 hour trip with an almost two year old and an almost 2 month old.  There were several moments in the car when we were seriously second guessing ourselves.  We enjoyed staying with Elizabeth, Scott, Caitlin, and Emma.  Caitlin was particularly helpful making sure Charlie had someone to play with at all times.  We also had a chance to meet baby James Cooper who is just a month younger than Will.

Here are pictures from the past few weeks!
