11 Months of Will

Mr. Big Man is becoming a little person with a big personality.  He is learning to stand and takes a few steps.  He is still a speedy crawler... he puts his head down and barrels across the floor.  William is a dancer.  Anytime he hears a song he starts shaking his head and wiggling his body.  We constantly have music on just so we can watch him dance.  We cant wait for our first Christmas with him and more importantly to celebrate his first Birthday in a few short weeks.  Here are some favorite pictures from the month.

Golden fall

Here a few of our favorites pictures from the fall.  Halloween was especially fun this year because Charlie finally understood the magic of trick-o-treat.  Our little minions made it to 10 houses.  Mom and Dad ate most of the candy.

10 months of Will

We are very late with this post; suggests its been a busy month in the Metcalf house.  We have been enjoying the fall with our little man.  Taking him on hikes, to let him crawl around in the grass and take in the last bits of warm sun.  He continues to get sweeter.  He can communicate and is starting to use sign language.  He gets bigger and stronger by the day.  Pretty soon he will be walking and talking.  Here are a few pictures from the last month.

9 Months of Will

Many changes this month!  Will is now an incredible crawler, moving at record speeds.  He has been figuring out how to stand, too.  He can pull himself up and stand and bounce.  We are going to cherish these last few months of limited mobility.  Will has also weened himself off of purees and has dropped a few milk feeds.  He loves to feed himself and he loves to eat.  The other big change in Wills life is that he is finally in a crib instead of a pack-n-play.  Charlie and Will now share a room and it is the sweetest thing to see them look at each other as they fall asleep.  Here are a few of our favorite pictures.

Endless Summer

The summer started with an epic trip east to celebrate four very special people.  Emily and Jimmy were married at beautiful Sebago Lake.  Their union was marked by a weekend of family and too much fun on the dance floor.  We then traveled to VT to be part of Ben and Cheryl's intimate wedding at their new home.  Seeing their home full of love felt magical. We are so fortunate to be able to welcome Jimmy and Cheryl into our lives.

When we returned to MT it was summer was full on.  We have had one of the hottest July's on record.  This did not deter Boppy from travelling out to see us for two months.  The summer of Boppy is just what we needed.  He has been critical in our day to day life; helping us with the kids and making sure we take a few moments to have fun.  He leaves in a few days and we know we are going to be lost without him. Watching him with Charlie and Will fills our hearts and we are going to miss him so much.

Fall is rapidly approaching and we are both back at UM living the professor life.  Our new crop of students energize us and provides the much needed reason for doing the job we do. Balancing work and family can be a challenge, but having our two little smiles makes it easy to take time for family.  Here are some of our favorite pictures from the fall.

8 Months of Will

What a summer with our little man.  It is so exciting to watch him grow and change so quickly.  It feels like yesterday that he was a tiny little infant snuggled in our arms.  He still has not fully figured out how to crawl, but that doesn't stop him from moving.  He army crawls, pulling his whole body across the room.  Will also has six teeth... four on top and two on bottom.  Poor guy has been uncomfortable, but he still manages to smile and laugh.  Here are some of our favorite pictures of Will from this month.
