There have been a few key moments in life we will not forget... our engagement and wedding, when we found out we were pregnant... and now we have another special event to add to the list, Baby Shower! Casey made a magical day for me full of surprises and filled with so much love. The weekend kicked off with a surprise baby shower guest; my sister Emily! Alex, Emily and Casey worked together to distract me so Alex could pick up Em at the airport. There she was standing in my kitchen full of wine and jet lag excited to attend the shower.
Casey planned a brunch style shower with yummy treats like baked french toast, quiche, yogurt/granola bar, fresh fruit, and ham. The house was decorated in navy blue, coral pink, and gold. Moana (Casey's 7 yr old daughter) created many of the decorations herself and helped throughout the entire shower. Guests arrived with so many gifts and ready to celebrate. My second surprise of the weekend was a bead ceremony Casey organized. Each guest brought a special bead and came prepared to share advice or in many instances a heartfelt story about motherhood and friendship. The beads have been made into a bracelet to remind me of the all the love and support I have when I am a mother.
The shower was by far one of the most memorable experiences I have had while living in Missoula. I am truly thankful to have generous and welcoming friends in my life. Please enjoy some of the pictures from the shower.
